Inlays & Onlays in North Scottsdale
Did you know…
Inlays and onlays are often called "indirect fillings" due to their fabrication process.
The Inlays & Onlays Treatment Process
Examination and Preparation
The process starts with a thorough examination of your oral health. Dr. Rozenfeld will check for signs of decay, damage, and other dental issues. If inlays or onlays are the best treatment option, the affected tooth will be prepared. This involves removing the decayed or damaged portion of the tooth and cleaning the area to make sure it's free from bacteria and debris.
Digital Impression and Fabrication
Once the tooth is prepared, Dr. Rozenfeld will take a digital scan of your tooth. This scan will be used to fabricate your custom inlay or onlay in the office using CEREC technology. This process ensures a perfect fit and a natural look.
Placement and Bonding
When your inlay or onlay is ready, Dr. Rozenfeld will carefully fit it onto your tooth. Once she ensures a perfect fit, the inlay or onlay is bonded to your tooth with a strong dental adhesive, and then polished for a smooth finish.

Better Tooth Strength
Dentures can significantly enhance your smile if you've lost teeth. They're designed to look natural and can be tailored to match your existing teeth, making them virtually indistinguishable. This can boost your self-esteem and confidence.
Long-Lasting Solution
Inlays and onlays are made from durable materials like porcelain or composite resin, which can withstand the forces of biting and chewing. With proper care, they can last for many years, making them a long-term solution to tooth decay and damage.
Natural Appearance
One of the biggest advantages of inlays and onlays is their natural appearance. They are custom-made to match the color and shape of your natural teeth, making them virtually indistinguishable from the rest of your smile.
Preservation of Healthy Tooth Structure
Inlays and onlays require less removal of healthy tooth structure compared to traditional crowns. This conservative approach helps maintain more of your natural tooth, which is always preferable in dental treatments.
Improved Oral Hygiene
The precise fit of inlays and onlays leaves fewer gaps or crevices where bacteria can accumulate. This makes it easier to maintain good oral hygiene and reduces the risk of further decay or gum problems around the treated tooth.
